Can I be a teaching assistant without experience?

We recommend getting teaching experience as a volunteer before looking for teaching assistant work through Zen.

Teaching assistant roles can be quite competitive — schools prefer to hire people who already have experience as a teaching assistant within UK schools.

If you don't yet have teaching assistant experience, we recommend volunteering at a local school so you have some direct experience to put on your CV.
