Training: where to find it and how it works
Zen Educate offers an extensive library of training modules to help you develop your skills and be better prepared for work in schools. All training on the platform is completely free for educators.
Where to find training
Tap More in the bottom navigation bar, then scroll to the Training section. You will see two options:
Assigned training - training your Account Manager has specifically asked you to complete. If you have a number badge on this, it means there is outstanding training waiting for you.
All training - the full library of available training modules covering a wide range of topics to help you develop in your role.
Assigned training
Your Account Manager may assign training to you for a specific reason - for example, if your absence rate has been flagged, you may be asked to complete absence and punctuality training. They may also assign training if they think it would be valuable for your development or to help you access more work.
If you have been assigned training, you must complete it. In some cases, outstanding training will need to be completed e.g. Safeguarding before your account can continue as normal.
Safeguarding training
Safeguarding training is valid for 12 months from the date of completion and must be kept up to date at all times. You will be reminded to renew annually to make sure you are always working to the latest safeguarding standards.
Do not leave it too late. If your existing safeguarding certificate is less than one month from expiry, you will need to complete fresh certification to ensure there are no delays to any future work. If you do not provide updated certification when prompted, your account will be automatically unverified, which means you will not be able to receive bookings until it is resolved.
Have an external safeguarding certificate? If you have completed safeguarding training outside of the Zen Educate platform, you may be able to upload it instead. Only the following will be accepted:
- Level 2 or above safeguarding qualifications
- CPD-accredited qualifications - these will display a CPD Certification Service logo on the certificate
Qualifications must be clearly certified to confirm they meet our safeguarding standards. If you are unsure whether yours qualifies, get in touch with the support team before uploading.
To upload your certificate, go to More → Documents in the app. Take a look at our Uploading your documents article for the full steps.
All training
The full training library is available to all educators at any time. You do not need to wait to be assigned something - if you see a module that is relevant to your role or the type of work you want to do, you are encouraged to complete it.
Completing training improves your profile and can increase your chances of being matched to work, particularly for specialist roles. For example, completing Early Years training can open up opportunities in nurseries and EYFS settings.
Can't find the training section?
Go to More in the bottom navigation bar and scroll down past the Account section. Training sits below Account and above Information.
