What to Expect from a Matching Call
If you have expressed interest in a long-term role, you may receive a call from a member of the Zen Educate team. Here is what that call is about and what happens next.
Why are we calling?
When you show interest in a long-term position, a Recruiter will reach out to have a quick conversation before your details are put forward to the school. This is not a formal interview - it is a short call to make sure the role is genuinely a good fit for you before we take things further.
What will we cover?
The call is straightforward. We will run through a few practical things to make sure everything lines up.
- Your availability. We will confirm you can commit to the days and hours the role requires.
- Your DBS. We will check your DBS is valid and active on the Update Service.
- Your commute. We will ask how long the journey to the school takes using your usual route, and whether you have a backup if needed.
- The role itself. We will make sure you have seen the details - the year group, the setting, the pay rate and that it matches what you are looking for.
- Your experience. We will ask about your background to make sure it is relevant to the role, particularly if it involves SEN or a specific age group.
It helps to have the job details in front of you when we call, and to have thought about your commute in advance.
What happens after the call?
You will receive a follow-up email summarising the conversation. If things look like a strong match, your details will be passed to the Account Manager to take forward with the school. The school still needs to review everything and confirm their decision, so there is one more step after us before anything is confirmed.
Will you find out the outcome on the call?
Not always. The Account Manager will be in touch after the call to update you on next steps.
