Working During School Holidays

School holiday dates vary by region and local authority. If you are unsure when your local school's break up, check your regional term time dates online.

During school holidays, most schools are closed and daily supply and long-term roles will not be available. However, there are still opportunities to work depending on your area and demand.

Nursery roles

Private nurseries operate year-round and are not tied to school term times. Nursery roles may be available during school holidays depending on demand in your area.

If you are interested in working during the holidays - whether you are on daily supply or between long-term placements, make sure you have nursery selected in your preferences in the app.

There is no need to contact us. Keep your availability updated as usual and if a suitable role comes up in your area, the request will be sent to you automatically. Simply accept it in the app.

To update your preferences, tap your profile photo, go to the Education tab, and make sure nursery is selected under your settings.

Afternoon clubs

During half term breaks, some of the schools we work with run afternoon clubs. Roles for these will come through the app in the same way as any other booking - keep your availability up to date and accept any requests that suit you.

Keeping your availability up to date

Whether you are looking for work over the holidays or taking time off, make sure your calendar reflects your availability accurately. The app will only send you role requests on days you are marked as available.
