How to Report a Lateness
Why Reliability Matters
Schools count on Zen Educate to provide dependable, high-quality teaching staff.
Unplanned absences and lateness can leave classrooms short-staffed and place extra pressure on school teams.
Even one unplanned absence can lead a school to end a booking early since they need consistent cover each day, reduce access to future shifts or, in extreme cases, remove you from the platform. Schools depend on consistent, on time cover each day, and rely on you to attend bookings that you have accepted.
Teachers and teaching assistants are expected to follow the school calendar and, whenever possible, schedule personal and medical appointments during school breaks or outside of school hours.

How to Report Your Lateness
Please message the school directly in the Zen app to let them know if you’ll be late.
Always include your expected arrival time and a brief, focused reason for your delay - keeping your message clear and to the point lets the school adjust their plans without extra back-and-forth.
Open the Zen app and go to your Calendar
Tap the booking you're running late for
Select the Message option
Enter your expected arrival time and reason for lateness
Tap Send
Tip: If you’ve messaged this school before, use the messages icon at the top-right of your home page for quick access.
Important Note
Arriving more than 2 hours late without prior agreement or notice counts as a no-show and will result in the booking being cancelled.
