Marking yourself Absence
If you cannot make a booking, let us know as soon as possible - directly in the app. This is the only way to report an absence.
Why it matters
Schools rely on Zen Educate for dependable cover. When an educator does not show up without notice, it leaves a classroom without support and puts extra pressure on the school team.
Even a single unplanned absence can have consequences - schools may choose to end a booking early, reduce the number of requests they send you, or in serious cases, stop working with you altogether.
Whenever you can, try to schedule personal or medical appointments during school holidays or outside of school hours.
How to report an absence in the app
- Open the app and tap Calendar
- Tap the date you need to cancel
- Choose your reason from the drop-down menu

Tap Confirm
That is it. Your calendar updates straight away, and the school is notified immediately. You do not need to call or message anyone separately.
