How Daily Supply Works
Daily supply is how most educators get work through Zen Educate. Schools post requests when they need cover, and if your profile matches their requirements, the request comes through to you in the app.
Here is everything you need to know from receiving a request to turning up on the day.
Before you start
You need to have completed onboarding and be fully verified before supply requests start coming through. If you have not done this yet, download the app to begin.
Make sure you have the Zen app downloaded — all supply requests come through the app.
Receiving requests
When a school needs cover and your travel radius and preferences match their requirements, a request will appear in the Supply tab of the app. You will also get a push notification if you have them turned on.
A few things worth knowing:
- Most requests are sent to multiple educators at the same time to make sure the role gets filled
- If another educator accepts first, the role will no longer be available to you
- Roles move fast — checking early in the morning and having notifications on gives you the best chance.
Accepting a request
Tap the request in your Supply tab to see the full details — school name, date, start time, and role requirements. If everything works for you, tap Accept.
Once accepted, you will receive a booking confirmation and the booking will appear in your Calendar tab.
Important: once you accept a booking, you will not be shown other requests that overlap with it. Make sure you are available and able to work before you accept.
If the role does not work for you, tap Decline. You will never be penalised for declining. If you are not available on those dates, update your calendar so you do not keep receiving requests for days you cannot work.
On the day
Check your travel plans ahead of time and aim to arrive at least 10 minutes early. This gives you time to settle in before you start and avoids any issues with traffic or delays.
You must bring the following documents to every booking:
- Passport or photo ID
- DBS certificate — physical copy only
If you arrive without these documents, the school may turn you away and you will not be compensated.
